Student Leadership & Service

Leadership and service are integral to our community, grounded in our commitment to developing Christ-centred young people.
Student voice and agency are valued, with opportunities to contribute and shape school life. From Kindy, students actively participate in Chapel by leading song, prayer, and elements of the program, building confidence and a heart for service.

Students begin formal leadership training in their senior years of Primary school, taking on leadership roles, while Secondary students lead through chaplaincy teams, prefect roles, and school leadership positions.
Service is expressed through community initiatives, environmental action, and international partnerships, including Light of Hope in Cambodia, as students are encouraged to serve others with compassion and purpose.

At Landsdale Christian School, our House factions play a vital role in shaping identity, connection, and purpose within our community. Since the school’s beginnings in 1987, the House system has grown from simple colour groups named after gemstones - Sapphire, Ruby and Emerald - into something far richer and more meaningful.
Today, our Houses - Binjar Blue Wrens, Kanana Kookaburras, and Marlak Magpies - reflect a deep connection to the land we share, incorporating local Noongar language and celebrating native Australian wildlife.
With Binjar meaning swamp or lake, Kanana meaning land where the sun sets, and Marlak meaning bushland, each House embodies a unique story and sense of place. The introduction of native animal mascots in 2025 further strengthened this identity, giving students a shared symbol to rally around.
Our Primary and Secondary House Captains play an important leadership role in encouraging participation, and modelling teamwork and integrity across the school. More than just teams for sport and events, our Houses foster belonging, encourage leadership, and create opportunities for students to grow in character, teamwork, and school pride - helping every student find their place and purpose within the Landsdale community

Leaders through service.
